NMRI builds Envirocast Network software

May 2, 2003
The New Media Research Institute partners with Stormcenter Communications, Inc. to develop the software for Stormcenter’s Envirocast™TV system.

As Stormcenter, a Maryland-based environmental information company, describes this, Envirocast™TV “delivers broadcast-ready earth observation satellite imagery for use directly on-air through our media partners and by decision-makers. Imagery is chosen that addresses important environmental and earth science situations that are critical to communicating accurate information. In addition to the media's use, decision-maker's can focus on local implications related to major natural and technological disasters and hazards. Subscribers can pre-determine the types of imagery they need or receive all images produced.”
The New Media Studio is providing Stormcenter Communications, Inc. with the client-server software programming that creates Envirocast™TV’s interactive and database capabilities. “The goal is to give each media partner the ability to select only those topics that they are most interested in, and then provide them with the latest satellite information,” notes Arthur Clifford, TNMS’s Technical Director.
