Posted April 23rd, 2007 by Bruce CaronThe Data and Information Application Layer (DIAL) ACCESS project uses plug-in technology to add NASA data visualization and access tools to the Adobe Director™ multimedia application authoring environment. This means that, with a little additional work, stand-alone data-rich applications can be authored as easily as any other software authored using Director™.
DIAL OSX Director IDL Plugin (Xtra) under test
Posted May 10th, 2007 by Bruce CaronAfter six months of coding and refactoring, the OSX version of the IDL plugin to Director is undergoing testing at the Institute. The Plugin currently has Carbon and Mach 0 versions (Director is a Carbon application, and IDL is Mach 0). The Institute (like all Director users) is waiting for Adobe to announce the upgrade to Director, which should make this a Mach 0 application too. Until that time, the OS X plugin will remain in beta mode.
